a new kind of eye clinic

Conveniently located in the Northern suburb of North Oaks, Minnesota, Acclaro has created a unique combination of high technology and patient-centered eye care. Helping patients with conditions ranging from glaucoma or cataracts, to offering LASIK surgery, Acclaro is focused on improving the lives of its patients by improving their vision.

Eye Conditions

Normal Vision (emmetropia)
Exists when distant light focuses clearly on a single point on the retina.

Nearsightedness (myopia)
Nearsightedness is when light from distant objects focus in front of the retina.

Farsightedness (hyperopia)
Farsightedness is when light from distant objects focus behind the retina.

Astigmatism
Light focusing from near or distant objects do not focus on a single point.

Presbyopia
Light from a near object focus behind the retina.

Cataract
Cloudiness of the lens, causing reduced vision.

Glaucoma
Damage to the optic nerve, usually due to high pressures inside the eye, causing decreased vision.

Macular Degeneration
Aging changes to the macula – the central region of the retina – that cause decreased vision.

Dry Eye Syndrome
Decreased tear production that leads to blurred vision, red eyes, eye pain and even watery eyes.

Treatments

LASIK
Reshaping the middle layers of the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and/or astigmatism.

Custom LASIK
Using wavefront measures to determine and correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and/or astigmatism.

IntraLase® (All-Laser) LASIK
Using a laser to create the flap for LASIK.

LASEK (Epi-LASEK)
Reshaping the layer of the cornea just beneath the surface layer (epithelium) to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and/or astigmatism.

Phakic IOLs
Phakic intraocular lenses (IOLs) are used to treat high amounts of nearsightedness or farsightedness by implementing a lens inside the eye.

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)
Removing the natural lens to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and or astigmatism.

Cataract Surgery
Removing a cloudy natural lens and replacing it with a clear implant lens.

Intraocular Lens Implants (IOLs)
IOLs are necessary to replace the focusing power of the natural lens, once the natural lens has been removed.

Presbyopia-correcting Intraocular Lens Implants (IOLs)
This is a new IOL technology to allow for uncorrected distance, intermediate and near vision after cataract surgery.
