Presbyopia is when light from a near object focus behind the retina.
“In young patients, the lens can automatically focus light from near objects on the retina by changing shape (accommodation). With age, the lens can’t change shape as well. So, people come in with three complaints: ‘I need a bigger font,’ ‘I need more light to see small print,’ or ‘I need longer arms.’ Solutions include glasses, contact lenses, implant lenses, or laser vision correction. We don’t do arm implants.”
