Our Mission:

Acclaro is dedicated to improving the lives of our patients by providing remarkable and compassionate eye care.

Phakic IOLs

Phakic intraocular lenses (IOLs) are used to treat high amounts of nearsightedness or farsightedness by implanting a lens inside the eye.

“Imagine a contact lens that you never had to remove or replace. That’s the idea behind the Phakic IOL. A lens is implanted inside the eye to correct nearsightedness or farsightedness that is outside the range of what we treat with LASIK or LASEK. A small incision is made in the wall of the eye, the lens is positioned on the iris (Verisyse™ lens) or through the pupil (Visian ICL™), and the incision is closed. The procedure takes only about ten minutes to complete.”

Acclaro helps its patients understand Phakic IOLs and how IOLs can be an effective treatment for several eye conditions. Acclaro’s ophthalmologists are some of Minnesota’s leading Phakic IOL experts.
