Presbyopia-correcting IOLs are lenses that can simultaneously correct distance, intermediate and near vision. The two varieties we utilize are the multi-focal IOLs and accommodating IOLs.

The two currently available multifocal IOLs are the ReStor® lens and the ReZoom® lens. Due to the unique characteristics of the ReZoom multifocal IOL, this is our preferred option at this time.

The currently available accommodating IOL is the Crystalens®. This lens can mimic the movements of the lens inside the eye to change focus from distant to near objects. Intermediate and near vision stimulate accommodation which causes contraction of the ciliary muscles inside the eye.
